Intertrade Group and Diane Pernet partnered with Gallery Aesthete for the launch of Diane Pernet Paris Fragrance Collection in Chicago, also hosting the ASVOFF Film Festival at Gene Siskel Film Center. Combining the elements of apparel, fine art, and design, Gallery Aesthete is intentionally hidden within Chicago’s premiere fashion district. The philosophy of Gallery Aesthete is to illuminate the relationship between fashion, art, and object, purveying each for the refinement of your personal collection. The event launch celebrated the perfumes, the style and Diane herself, with guests of the like of Nick Cave, Samm Mackin, Emma Arnold, Tommy Walton to name a few. Madame Pernet flew from Paris to Chicago to receive the SAIC’s Legend of Fashion Award from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. “Diane has been on our short list of Legend of Fashion honorees for quite a while,” Department Chair Anke Loh said. “She is an innovator and a true interdisciplinary artist; she has the qualities we impart on our students. Diane was a designer herself and transitioned to becoming one of the most well-respected critics and filmmakers in fashion.”
